A low metabolism often creates problems like weight gain, increased cortisol (stress hormone) levels, Indigestion, etc. In order to loose weight fast and burn extra calories throughout the day, you need to keep your metabolism in check. In today’s article, we are going to look at some ways to boost your metabolism naturally.
1. The magical drink
Now, this magic drink is something which I’ve been using since 6 months and the results are pretty amazing, I just went from 20% to 12% body fat within a span of 4 months. This drink also helped me detoxify the body and plus, it’s a very easy recipe. All you need is half a lemon, a cup full of water, some ground ginger and a pinch of black pepper.
Recipe : heat one cup of water in a pan till it starts to boil, add the ginger in it and boil it on high flame for 2-3 minutes then strain it in a cup, now squeeze the lemon on it and then sprinkle with some black pepper. Here you go!! It’s an awesome drink to loose your weight and you can add some brown sugar into it too. It tastes amazing, it smells amazing and it works amazing. You will surely start to notice some difference in 1 week.
2. Take cold water showers
Cold water showers Increase metabolism in a very drastic manner because when you suddenly give your body a cooling effect, it will start to increase the body temperature ASAP, in this process, most of your store fat will be used for increasing heat of the body.
Cold water shower also boosts mood by giving you a boost of adrenaline. And because the amount adrenaline is in inverse with cortisol, you will also become stress free. But be careful not to bathe with too cold water if you have some heart related problems because the heart beat rate increase by 46% for 20 seconds from the moment the first drop of water senses you.
3. The Ayurvedic secret trick
Before every meal, just take a small piece of ginger, sprinkle some rock salt on it, chew it till all the juice comes out and then gulp it down. This trick maybe a little irritating at first but it genuinely fastens your digestion process by 60%. Yes, I know 60% is a lot, but as soon as you gulp down the ginger, you’ll feel like there is fire buring down your stomach, this is because this trick increased the hcl concentration in your stomach.
And also, there are many more benefits of ginger apart from this. Since ginger may fight germs, illness, inflammation, and cancer-causing molecules, taking a little bit every day can support your overall health. Ginger is a natural root, so drinking it will also give you added nutrients.
4. Do not drink water after eating any meal or snack!!
There is a lot of debate on this topic. Some say that you should drink water after or with meals and some say you shouldn’t. So, to check things out I went through the ancient Indian book of medical science (Ayurveda). And found out that it is awesome to drink a cup of water before any meal as it will clean your esophagus and also increase your salivery enzimes. and sipping a little water during meals is also a good choice as it will not let your mouth dry out.
But the real problem is with drinking water after meals. You may have a sip of water just to clean your mouth from the remaining of the meals but you should not drink over a 100ml water meals at any cost. It will dilute your digestive enzymes and also, after you put in food into your body, your body starts rising temperature as the hcl level Increases, but contrary to that, drinking water will reduce your body temprature drastically and thus will lead to low metabolism and problems like indigestion and constipation.
5. Don't skip any meal, eat less if you want, but eat regularly
See, your metabolism has a main purpose in your body. Metabolism in itself is not a thing, it is a series of chemical activities in your body that you need to sustain your life and grow your body. So this means metabolism will only increase only if there is a constant supply of food that your body can break down, it doesn’t matter if it is low calorie and high calorie, it can even be fruit or veggie juice.
When I asked my family doctor, he said that he would recommend to eat 5 small meals a day instead of 2 big meals and intermittent fasting. So as far as you can go, eat your food in small portions throughout the day, and also make sure you drink a lot of water and consume a veggie diet (vegan diet would be more awesome).
6. Add more spices to your meals
Spicy foods like Peppers contain capsaicin, a substance that can boost your metabolism .
However, many people can’t tolerate these spices at the doses required to have a significant effect .
One study of capsaicin, at acceptable doses, predicted that eating peppers would burn around 10 additional calories per meal. Over 6.5 years, this could account for 1 pound (0.5 kg) of weight loss for an average-weight male.
Alone, the effects of adding spices to your food may be quite small. However, it may lead to a slight advantage when combined with other metabolism-boosting strategies .
7. If there's too much difficulty Increasing it, consider taking a thyroid test
If your weight gain is sudden, it may be due to hypothyroidism, which is an underactive thyroid gland. This is a common condition, especially in women older than 60. When the thyroid gland is not producing enough hormones, body functions, including metabolism, slow down.
One of the biggest symptoms of hypothyroidism is unexplained weight gain. Simple blood tests can detect an underactive thyroid. There is no cure, but treatment using synthetic thyroid hormones is very effective.
